Brief Overview On April 1st 1997, GH Supplies opened for business. Utilising the same transport, warehouse and accounts facilities as the parent company, we made the decision to start small and only take on what we knew we could handle and handle properly. That stance has been the basis of what GH Supplies was able to expand on, and has been the reason why we have been able to grow our customer base consistently, and almost entirely on reputation. Where We Operate We are situated just outside Dartford in Kent and are approximately 2 minutes drive to the A2, 3 minutes from the M25, 10 minutes from the M20 and 25 minutes from London (on a good day!). Thus giving us direct access to all major routes into our delivery area (Kent, Surrey, Sussex, London and Essex). We also use a national courier service for deliveries around the country. How We Operate We run a fleet of 7 vehicles, every driver keeping to the same region each day. Our drivers have all developed a “local knowledge” of their area, and are learning all the time with new sites being added on a daily basis. Our aim is to offer a 24 hour delivery service as much as possible, where it is not, we will advise the customer at the time of placing the order. We do not have minimum order quantities or small order delivery charges for items held in stock. If in the rare case of a delivery charge imposed upon us by suppliers, then the customer is always informed at time of quotation. We keep an extensive stock of building materials, and are not scared to speculate on new lines and as such are able to offer full ranges on a number of market sectors. We are proud to boast that we have educated our suppliers into how we work, and can be confident that we get a good service from them on both stock and direct deliveries. On occasions I am sure that you as a customer will have a requisition for an item that you have not used before and possibly not heard of. In our experience, it is commonplace for merchants and distributors to not want to step outside of their stock portfolio, and wave away enquiries they are not familiar with. This is not the case at GH Supplies. If we encounter a new or obscure item, we will make it our business to find out what it is and where to get it. If we can’t help, we will do our utmost to steer you in the right direction.
