Based in Belfast in Northern Ireland, Resistant Building Products (2025) are the distributors of high-performance Magnesium Oxide (MgO) and Fibre Cement building boards throughout the UK and Ireland. Resistant was developed and nurtured by our sister company Tradewood & Co to provide an exceptional solution to an industry wide problem – the limitations of wood based construction products. Tradewood & Co is a long established and well respected importer of timber and sheet materials. At the turn of the millennium, Tradewood, as one of the largest plywood importers, was struggling to meet the demands of a booming construction sector. The demand was not singularly for volume but more specifically for innovation, and upon this realisation, Resistant Building Products was conceived. The Idea Was Simple – Source And Develop A Building Board Which Outperforms Plywood – The Rest As They Say Is History…and Also The Future We started by importing and distributing through Tradewood & Co, became Resistant Building Products Ltd. in 2011, and as of September 2025, we are Resistant Building Products (2025) Ltd. We now boast an unrivalled track record which has grown to supply more than 1,000,000 m2 pa of MgO for an ever wider range of end applications. Testing in the fields of hygrothermal, passive fire protection, water absorption, acoustics, strength and durability has been extensive and secured the award of a much coveted BBA Certificate covering many core applications. This isn’t the end of the testing journey though and we’re constantly subjecting our board to ever more rigorous challenges in the ultimate quest for building board perfection! Just as important as testing is quality assurance. The Resistant range of MgO building boards are manufactured in an impressive ISO 9001 registered production facility where the methods of production have been audited, monitored and signed off by the BBA. Upon arrival in Belfast the stock is stored in our modern 110,000 ft2 warehouse facility and subjected to continuous multi-point checking by our Technical department before dispatch to our many loyal customers. With more than £1,500,000 of landed stock in Belfast and an established network of stockists located right across the UK & Ireland we pride ourselves on being ready to secure every sales opportunity.
