We have been operating successfully for the past 30 years and in that time we have installed thousands of stores from Lands End to John O'Groats. The Scooter Store is a revolutionary way to keep your mobility scooter or wheelchair safe from thieves and weather. Scooter Store is now an established idea that has been very well-received with the elderly and disabled community. The Scooter Store was designed by Albert Wass, the Managing Director at the time of Site Safe. Site Safe have been manufacturing security boxes for over 30 years. Based in the South East of England, Site Safe are well-known innovators and designers of quality products. Site Safe first began manufacturing Tool Boxes and Site Safes for the construction industry. Having established ourselves as leaders in the field of security boxes, we moved on to solve the problem of storage for the electric Scooter for the disabled, while also conquering the problem of the theft of these scooters. The name of this innovative little box is the SCOOTER STORE. Site Safe have won a number of awards for their outstanding designs of products such as the SCOOTER STORE and the VANSAFE. The Scooter Store The Scooter Store concept is simple and was designed in response to a demand from the public. We were commissioned to manufacture a Scooter Store which will accommodate a mobility scooter keeping it safely stored outside a person's property. We came up with our standard Scooter Store which has proved to be a great success. The standard Scooter Store measures 5' long x 4 wide x 3'6'' high and is made using 2mm mild steel. They have a powder coated green finish (other colours are available upon request). The Scooter Store is powered by batteries which are charged by an automatic charger therefore the store requires a 240V electrical power supply to the double socket fitted inside the store (in most cases this would be included in your installation price and carried out when installing the store). This enables the user to plug into the electrical socket and charge the scooter when it is locked inside the store. The store has up and down push buttons to raise and lower the lid - these controls can be mounted on the left and right hand side of the store, or if required we can even demount the controls (see enclosed site plan). When the store is open a person over 6' can easily stand upright within the store. A lock is fitted to the store which cuts off the power to the opening mechanism. We can make Scooter Stores to various sizes if necessary, so if you have a larger or smaller scooter or for example a scooter with a canopy we can manufacture a store to suit your specific requirements. We also supply a double Scooter Store which measures 5' long x 6' wide x 3'6'' high. The double store allows two scooters to be parked side by side. Occasionally re-conditioned Scooter Stores are available which we sell on a ''first come, first served'' basis unless they are reserved by an order. Planning permission is not normally required as the Scooter Store is a temporary structure and is in no way secured to the floor. The store itself weighs approximately half a ton and is delivered in a flat pack kit form for installation to awkward places. We have a delivery and installation service and prices vary depending on distance and destination. The store requires very little maintenance, only oiling of the hinge and the lock, at regular intervals e.g. once a month. Many of our stores have been funded through Disabled Facility Grants.
